Macabre Style Guide – Happy Halloween!

Fashion is taking a turn towards the darker side, with plenty of my favorite accessories that incorporate precious stones, crystals, and metals. Witchy women possess a streak of magic and mysticism, it’s all about using your inner strengths and finding power within.

Designers such as Cushnie et Ochs and Gareth Pugh mentioned witches as inspiration for their fall 2014 collections. Gothic looks reminiscent of those seen in the 1996 film “The Craft” were seen at the shows of Erdem, Marios Schwab, Emporio Armani, Katie Gallagher and Mark and Estel. The looks included a lot of long black dresses, boots, tights, choker necklaces, short black dresses, many with botanical embroidery and cut-out detailing, oversized bowler hats, and black capes.

It’s time to pull out your long skirts blowing in the wind, shawls, layers of lace, vintage fabrics, ruffles, leather, mystical pendants and talismans to channel your inner Stevie Nicks or 70’s gypsy sorceress.
