Holiday Travel Essentials

With travel plans set, presents wrapped and days off from work, it’s time to tis’ the season for holiday traveling. With suitcases full of presents and goodies for family and friends, I find it a challenge to bring everything I need for my time away. I have found my roll-ons and candles are the perfect size and familiar scent needed to make my travels feel like I am home for the holidays!

If you are anything like me, traveling means filling my own bag with travel essentials, as well as make sure my family has everything they need too! This means that I have no time to get stopped in security because of products I have over the fluid regulation. My roll-ons provide the perfect size that meets FDA code and because they are all natural they are non-flammable and screw tight for no leakage or melted waxes.

In today’s post, I have put together a few of my favorite Holiday Travel Essentials that I will be traveling with this season and hope you will enjoy them too.

My favorite travel candles from my collections are from my FAINT group. They travel wonderfully with the screw on cap, securing the wax and making for a mess free suitcase. I’m an earthy gal myself so I opt for the deeper fragrances…Onyx, Garnet and Topaz! It’s so lovely to make your hotel room feel just a little bit like home!”

“I like to spice it up a bit in the spirit of travel and choose some scents from my BLENDS collection as my favs for the nomad in us all. My three favs from my BLENDS group are, Onyx and Peridot, Jade and Topaz, and Garnet and Amethyst. With anyone of these on your side you’re sure to be smelling divine!”

“My Luna earrings in rosegold from my Estate collection go with everything… They’re delicate enough to go with jeans and a T-shirt in the day and elegant enough to transfer into the evening with a great cocktail dress… The perfect travel essential.”

The Bohemian Life

Image: My Bohemian Style

We are the music makers, And we are the dreamers of dreams, Wandering by lone sea-breakers,And sitting by desolate streams;— World-losers and world-forsakers, On whom the pale moon gleams: Yet we are the movers and shakers. – Of the world for ever, it seems. ~Arthur O’Shaughnessy, “Ode,” 1874

Many refer to my brand as Bohemian, which now is a trendy term, but it’s origin is deeply rooted in who I am as an artist and what The Sage Lifestyle is all about. Growing up in a home full of hippies, with my mother painting on my clothes in the middle of the night, it became a way of life for me. To dream and create designs from those dreams. This love for the non-traditional lifestyle and way of thinking is what brought about The Sage Lifestyle. Without the freedom to imagine and get a little dirty while doing it, can you really produce designs that will inspire others to imagine? I have traveled the world to find crazy, beautiful vintage baubles that are then reworked into modern, yet timeless pieces of wearable art, using only precious or semi-precious gemstones, sterling silver and 14 karat gold. My life is my work, there is no line between the two for me. I do what I love, I do it with passion, and I do it my way.
Turkish Chamber exhibition in Dresden to open

Mar. 01, 2010 – Dresden, Saxony, Germany – A staff member of Dresden State Art Collections eyes an Ottoman tent of 20 metres length dating 17th century in the so-called ‘Turkish Chamber’ in Dresden, Germany, 01 March 2010. Prince Elector August II the Strong had brought the exhibit to Dresden in 1729. The Electoral Saxon collection of oriental art will re-open on 07 March 2010 with 600 exhibits displayed on 750 square metres. Photo: RALF HIRSCHBERGER (Credit Image: © DPA/

With it’s origin dated back to the nineteenth century, the word bohemian described a group of non-traditionalist in major European cities living an artistic way of life. Artists, writers, journalists, musicians and actors fell into the category of people whom lived a bohemian lifestyle. The term continued to grow a movement of free thinkers, artistic minds and whimsical spirits embracing the bohemian attitude.

“In creating my Faint collection I went deep into my roots and was inspired by the vintage jars my mother used to hold her paints in and created an homage to her and all the valuable life lessons she, a true bohemian introduced me to! My Faint line embodies that bohemian spirit in all of its colorful and artful packaging.”  Shop the Faint Collection here.

“When I am designing… it is all about the layering of colors,  meshing together patterns and colors that contrast against one another but somehow completely belong as one. This is my signature and my clients know they can always expect that color celebration from me!”

Tribute to Garnet, The Stone of Love

As we enter one of the most cheerful and exciting times of the year, we look to celebrate a festive stone that throughout history has been worn to celebrate life, love, and protect those we love. This stone has adorned women for thousands of years: Garnet. Garnet, The Stone of Love is a deep red hue perfect for the holidays. The stone inspired one of my favorite fragrances for the season, with it’s deeply sensual and smoldering hue, Garnet transforms the wearer’s body heat in an enigmatic alchemy.

The Garnet fragrance is as deeply sensual as the smoldering red hue of the stone for which it was named. This tribute to the stone of love begins with a luscious and seductive watermelon top note. Garnet’s full, inviting middle note accord of gardenia and Moroccan red rose absolute languidly lies on a sumptuous bed for amber, vanilla and must that both radiates and beckons.

During this time we look to spend time with the ones we love, give them gifts and cherish every moment. Throughout history Garnet has been given to loved ones as a healing stone and to inspire commitment as a promise to love and devote oneself to the other. If you are looking for something special for a friend, family member or one that you love, Garnet is the perfect fragrance to give! Shop the entire collection here!
